Reimbursement for Lead in Water Mitigation
If lead is detected at or above the state hazard level of 10 ppb in drinking or cooking water taps, low-cost mitigation is fully covered for participating facilities.
If you work with our program, we cover the full cost of products and labor to mitigate any taps with lead levels at or above the state action level. If you choose to use an external plumbing contractor instead of our program's plumbers, you may be reimbursed for up to $1,000 of labor charges, while funding lasts.
Reimbursement for Lead-based Paint and Asbestos Mitigation
If lead-based paint or asbestos hazards are found, mitigation is partially or fully covered for facilities. Public schools can request reimbursement for up to 2/3rds of the costs of mitigation activities, and child care centers can request reimbursement for the full cost of mitigation activities.
